A NIGHT WITH THE FELLAS

Well hello boys, hello fellas, my name is Josh White and I’m a bit nervous up here, so bear with me, I’m certainly one of the younger blokes here tonight from the look of it, but I’m the one who has to sort of start the proceedings tonight, and this night, it certainly has become a bit of a tradition, just over the last couple of years, a lot of things are changing, but this night, it’s become a really special night for us, just something that we realised we really needed to do, as sort of more traditional Australian men, we sort of realised we needed to organise, in a slightly more formal way, just to get a sense of where we are, as a group, but also just for the chance to be together and so tonight all over Australia blokes will be gathering for this End of Year Night With the Fellas, blokes who grew up together, or blokes who went to school together, mates from the footy club, mates from work, it doesn’t matter, so long as you get together with some mates, or in this case a couple of hundred mates! And we’re obviously going pretty good, just judging by the turnout here tonight, and it is just fantastic to see so many fellas here tonight. And I just want to give a bit of a special thanks on behalf of all of us to the local Fellas Committee, Damo, Sooms, Letty, Reefs, and all the boys, I had a bit to do with it this year, and I saw the work they do to support the night, so thank you to all the boys for all the work they’ve done, and we’re really lucky to have all this, the hall, it’s looking pretty classy I’d have to say, bit of a step up from last year, all the tables, and quite a bit of classy velvet around, so that’s good, and I should just say, great work to the local Fellas Committee, for all the work they do, the tables, and the display, the pictures of the sporting legends up there, that’s always good, so thanks to the local committee, thanks for doing all that, thank you to them.

OK. I’m getting through! It’s all good. Now, I’ve got this bit of paper here, hang on, here it is, I’ve got some special thank yous to give out to some fellas who have made a pretty huge effort to be here tonight. A Matthew Neale is here, he’s come all the way over from Marimba, where are you Matty? Thanks, mate. And a Luke Hirst is here all the way from Sweden!
